Boca Ice offers adult hockey programs designed for players of all experience levels, from first-time skaters to those looking to build confidence for game play. Our adult hockey environment is welcoming, instructional, and focused on skill development, fitness, and fun—giving adults the opportunity to learn the game, improve at their own pace, and enjoy hockey in a supportive setting.

Hockey 101

Adult Learn to Play Hockey

Boca Ice Adult Learn to Play Hockey program is for those who have never played hockey before or for those who have very little experience, and or want to get back into hockey from their younger years. The hour will focus on the fundamentals of skating, shooting, and passing, as well as, positioning and rules of the game. You will also work on small area games and scrimmages.

*Full gear, including neck guards are mandatory & must be purchased prior to the first day.* (Boca Ice does not supply free gear). Please see the list below of equipment

Adult Hockey 101

The next step after our Adult Learn to Play program and is designed to introduce players to the fundamentals of real gameplay. This 8-week course focuses on understanding game flow, positioning, rules, and on-ice decision-making through guided instruction and structured scrimmages. Players will gain confidence applying their skills in game-like situations while continuing to develop their overall hockey knowledge in a supportive environment.

Important Rules and Regulations

  • Please use the locker rooms in the back of the rinks and refrain from getting your child dressed in the lobby (NORTH rink locker rooms 1-4).

  • ALL USA Hockey Membership numbers for the 2024-2025 season MUST be submitted to our Hockey Director Michelle Marella at michellem@bocaice.com (the fourth digit will be a 6. If it is a 5, you need to renew). USA Hockey Member Registration

  • Parents are not allowed on the benches. Please sit in the high-top tables along the rink, behind the goalies or in the Mezzanine level (please do not stand next to player benches as this is a distraction to the kids and coaching staff).

  • Full gear, including neck guards, are mandatory.

  • There are NO makeups.

  • Prorates are available although, you must notify the front office/hockey director prior to registering. There will be no prorations once the program has begun.
